IPSOS and Logica Business Consulting recently conducted a survey to get opinions from instructors in regard to the layout of classrooms and knowledge transmission. The results of this survey have allowed us to determine the ideal layouts for classrooms integrating computer equipment. From this study we found out that 52% of instructors already use NICTs in their classrooms on a weekly basis. 55% of them said that they always use a computer while teaching. However, computer-dedicated rooms are still a minority in most school institutions. Re-fitting out of classrooms was therefore judged to be necessary by 84% of instructors. Refits should take into account the evolution of methods used to transmit knowledge as 53% of the instructors surveyed want to integrate new technologies into their teaching environment. Furthermore, we have noted that computer furniture should also conform to instructors' requirements: 66% of those surveyed wish to organise students into smaller groups.
